Area of expertise
Providing emotional support and counselling to patients and families affected by a cardiac condition. I also support individuals who attend the Inherited Cardiac Conditions Service for screening for an inherited cardiac condition.
Biography
Advanced Diploma in Counselling -2003
BSc Therapeutic Counselling – 2005
BACP Accreditation 2006 (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy)

Whilst training, and following qualification as a counsellor I worked both in the voluntary sector and in private practice. I counselled in a drug and alcohol agency, at Leeds Counselling Service, Women’s Health Matters, Burley Lodge Counselling Service and managed Ebor Health Matters Counselling Service. My time working in community settings gave me invaluable experience of working with a wide range of issues.
I joined the cardiac team in 2007, supporting patients and families has given me an appreciation and understanding of how a diagnosis of a cardiac condition can impact on families, and how emotionally challenging it can be at times.
