Dr George Ballard Remembered at Awards Ceremony

On Friday Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust held the first Time to Shine awards at the Queen’s Hotel. Julian Hartley, Chief Executive, was joined for this special event by the Chair, Linda Pollard, colleagues from the Executive team and 400 members of staff who had been shortlisted for the awards.
Star of ITV’s Emmerdale, Chris Chittell – better known as Eric Pollard – also joined us for the evening to host the awards ceremony.
The awards were a fantastic opportunity to recognise the brilliant work that happens across our Trust and to say thank you to everyone involved.

Julian Hartley said “I was privileged to present a special award on the evening to the family of the late Dr George Ballard, a consultant in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at LGI, who tragically died in August this year. He had been nominated by a number of his patients for an Unsung Hero award and the judges were keen to recognise the obvious impact he had on so many patients and their families.”
