Launching “Helping Little Hearts” project.

Information about exercise and physical activity for children and teenagers with Congenital Heart Disease

Last month we launched the Leeds Pilot of the “Helping Little Hearts” project. This is a project looking at how we give information about exercise and physical activity to children and teenagers with Congenital Heart Disease. The project is funded by Heart Research UK, a Leeds based charity which supports research for patients with Heart disease and has been produced by the Children’s Health and Exercise Research Unit at Exeter University. We are giving families a Physical activity recommendations form and a booklet to discuss all the different aspects of activity and asking families to complete a questionnaire. The aim is that by September 2015 all families will receive this information throughout the country and this can then be passed onto school and other agencies involved in their care.
