New LGI waiting area and Playroom opened

“Last week our Chief Executive, Julian Hartley, went along to the Jubilee Wing at LGI to officially open the much improved waiting room and playroom in cardiac outpatients.
Sister Judith Shackleton from the unit came into post little over a year ago and instigated the project to refurbish the playroom and waiting area. Judith has made vital changes within the unit and has had a very positive impact on the service.
The improvements have dramatically transformed what was previously a dull space into a really bright and stimulating environment for our young patients in a dedicated area,
They been made possible thanks to the generosity of TD Direct Investing, one of the most active corporate supporters of our wonderful Children’s Heart Surgery Fund charity. Their support is very much valued and appreciated.
Thanks also to Pennine Signs who installed the wall art free of charge and Colin Clewes, an adult congenital patient, who has provided the wall art, toys and drawing board.
Well done to everyone involved.”
